"I can't stand people that do not take food seriously." - Oscar Wilde

I always wondered how people knew when they had just eaten the best meal of their life. There are so many factors… how hungry you are, type of cuisine, the atmosphere, etc.

Now I know. When you know, you just know. And it happened to me.

I ate at Casa Ferlin, an Italian restaurant in the same family for over 100 years in Zurich, for dinner last night, and every single part of dinner was the best food I have ever tasted. I went with three of my coworkers, and we ordered the menu of the day. I like Europe because we ate three appetizer courses (including raviolis that are worth the flight from the US), then had a Prosecco sorbet float to cleanse our palates, then had the actual main course and dessert. The most talented poets have not written words eloquent enough to describe this eating experience, so I am not even going to try. It was soooooooo good.

The only part that wasn’t the best of my life was the dessert, so I’m still on the hunt. I will just have to keep trying…

  1. I wonder if you could ship those raviolis to Seattle :-) Next time be sure to be a total tourist and take pictures of the food!
